VanDerveer, Valkyries roar past Lions

EUREKA - Bigfork used a 15-5 run to open the second half to blow things open en route to a 46-22 District 7B girls basketball victory over Eureka on Thursday evening.
Bigfork (2-1 overall, 1-0 league) led 21-12 at the half.
"We had a pretty good defensive first half," Eureka coach R.J. McDole said.
"They (Valkyries) started shooting the ball better in the second half."
The Valkyries were led by Melissa VanDerveer's 17 points. Taylor Peck added 11.
Cassidy Morgan led the way for Eureka (0-2, 0-1) with eight points.
Eureka travels to Ronan for a Saturday outing, while Bigfork entertains Plains.
