GREAT FALLS - The Glacier Wolfpack wrestlers had a good day Friday at the CMR Holiday Classic in Great Falls.

The Wolfpack was sitting in second place with 106 points after the first day. Great Falls High leads the event with 110.5 points and Forsyth is third at 105 points.

Billings Skyview (97) and Laurel (95) round out the top five.

"This tournament is really a meat grinder. Every weight class is a meat grinder. There's so many tough kids, it's amazing," said Glacier coach Mark Fischer.

"It's a really good experience for our kids. Sometimes they find out they beat a really tough kid," he said.

But there have been a few losses to really tough kids as well.

"So it works both ways," he smiled.

Glacier took 13 wrestlers to Great Falls. Eleven of those athletes are still in the mix and five are through to the semifinals.

"That's great for us," Fischer said.

Those in the semis are Kaleb Mitchell (130), Riley Pisk (171), Cooper Sipe (145), Shane St. Onge (160) and Mack Sutherland (285).

"We're sitting pretty good. We've got to have everybody plugging away for us tomorrow and we'll see what happens," he said.
