Mable N. True "Irene," passed peacefully early Sunday morning, Dec. 11, 2011. She was 93. She resided at Fairview Assisted Living in Spokane. Thank you Fairview and its wonderful employees and Horizon Hospice.
She was born Aug. 23, 1918, and grew up in the town of Fort Madison, Iowa. Her parents were Charles and Gertrude Nichols. She is the last surviving member of her family, which included four brothers and five sisters. She attended school in Fort Madison, Iowa, working at Schaffer Pen Co., after high school.
Irene moved to So. California in 1947 where she married Warren E. True. They both worked at North American Aviation. She then moved to Placerville, Calif., in 1976, where Warren passed in 1978.
She moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1998.
She is survived by her son, Dennis True and wife Rona from Post Falls; and her son, Gary True of Spokane Valley. There are three grandsons, Grey True, Harrison True and Zac Nichols; and four great-grandchildren, Caleb Nichols, Danielle Dalton and, Lauren and Kaitlyn True.
Those of us left in this life are grateful for knowing this wonderful, loving and spirited woman. With a sad heart, we wish you the fondest of farewells. We know wherever your journey takes you, people will smile.
