Timberline adds clearance center

Taking advantage of a 10,000-square-foot building and a busy street, Timberline has added a clearance center in the former Complete Suite Furniture building at 7419 Government Way.

Timberline has leased the building for a year and will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays definitely through the holidays and possibly through the year, according to owner Dave Knowles.

Taking advantage of warehouse overstocks and closeout goods, the store offers "crazy liquidation prices, especially on discontinued and irregular items," Knowles said. The store has men's women's and children's winter clothing and footgear and sport, hunting and fishing supplies.

The store has its main center in Silverlake Mall (about 10 years) with other options including Black Sheep Sporting Goods (since 1975) and Jake's Dry Dock.

Riverstone West Apartments opening

One of the biggest apartment complexes in North Idaho will open in mid-January. Labeled as an "affordable housing community," Riverstone West's 50 apartments are located on three acres on John Loop Road beside the Spokane River in Coeur d'Alene's Riverstone Complex.

The units are one-, two- and three bedroom with one or two bathrooms. In one- to three-story complexes, all units include a covered carport (soon under construction), storage area, most utilities and laundry hookups. Many of the energy-efficient units have river view balconies. The complex also has a community room and laundry facility.

The income-restriction units monthly rents are $468, $557 and $638. Some units won't have income restrictions. For information phone Maria Cooper of owning Whitewater Creek, Inc., in Hayden at 769-7301.

Hang on for these tidbits

• Again, next week watch for changes in Silver Lake Mall.

• And in Riverstone.

• And the Plaza Shops.

• A long-time fast-food place in Post Falls will become an Asian restaurant.

• As though this is sneaking in, notice all these sentences starting with A's and the ones in the first column item starting with T's. These are visual gimmicks to attract the readers.

• A lot of readers commented that they load their recycle containers more than they do their garbage ones. Maybe the recycles should be picked up weekly and the garbage alternating weeks, opposite what it is now. Uh, "a lot of" should be "many."

• A living could be made by someone figuring out how to recycle glass here. They do in Moscow, Missoula and Spokane.

• Avoid "over" when you want "more than." "Over" is physical, such as "over the candlestick." "More than" means "in excess of..."
