After a tight battle with Flathead Valley Home School on Saturday, a 44-42 win, Stillwater Christian School had a much easier go versus Mt. Baker on Monday at SCS.

Stillwater (6-1 overall) had five players scored nine points or more in a 72-49 nonconference boys basketball victory.

Josh Bray led the way for the Cougars with 20 points, followed by Zane Kloeckl and Ryan Koch with 10 each. Josh Topp and Trevor Holladay both had nine.

Stillwater had nine players score.

"It was nice to see so many guys contributing," SCS coach Ted Clark said.

"We've been relying a lot on Josh Topp and Josh Bray for the bulk of our scoring, but tonight it was an outstanding team effort."

Stillwater, up 31-20 at the half, pulled away with a strong second half as the Cougars outscored the Canadian team 41-29.

The 72 points is a season high for SCS.

"Very pleased with the second half," Clark said.

"We stepped up the intensity, our passing, desire and played much better defense. We shared the ball better."

Topp and Noah Hashley led SCS in rebounding with six each.

Topp and Holladay both had three assists.

Koch led in steals with five.

Stillwater is back in action Jan. 3 with a road contest with the Columbia Falls JV.
