Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 13 years, 6 months AGO
POST FALLS - The Post Falls City Council tonight is expected to approve a contract for $119,800 for a consultant to develop the city's parks and recreation master plan.
The contract with GreenPlay, LLC, is through Sept. 30.
Gary Young, Post Falls' former community development director, will head up the local efforts for GreenPlay since he lives and works here.
Five firms applied for the project.
Public input, citizen surveys and a steering committee are planned to be a part of the process.
The plan will be paid for with impact fees, annexation fees and the parks trust fund.
In other business, the council is expected to approve an agreement with the urban renewal agency to design improvements along Spokane Street from City Hall to the Spokane River bridge.
The Urban Renewal Agency would spend up to $10,000 to design an alternative Centennial Trail crossing at Railroad Avenue to improve safety, a median on Spokane from Fourth to the Spokane River bridge, a pedestrian pathway on the west side of Spokane from Fourth to the bridge and a traffic signal at Fourth and Spokane.
The regular meeting starts at 6 p.m. at 408 N. Spokane St.
The Post Falls City Council will hold a workshop on the strategic plan at 5 p.m.
