MASIN: A plea to all recyclers

For those in our community who have been deeply touched by the last-minute, miracle heart transplant 15-year-old Masin Hawkins received Dec. 17, you should be reminded that he almost didn't make it because of a lack of appropriate donors.

The more people who agree to become organ donors, the easier and more likely it will be to save lives like Masin's. And who knows? Yours too could be on the line someday. Or the life of someone you love.

Next time you're down at the DMV, and especially the first time, make sure you say yes to becoming an organ donor. It's that easy, and it doesn't cost a thing.

Live life, give life. It's the greatest gift. It's also the ultimate in recycling.

Merry Christmas, Masin. May you have a hundred more!
