Extra patrol requested after burglary attempt

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a woman who requested an extra patrol around her home on West View Drive in Kalispell after a failed break-in at her house. The door had been kicked in with the screen popped out, and there were footprints all around her house.

A resident of Trailridge Road in Kalispell reported someone may have tampered with her mail, although she was unsure if anything had been taken.

A resident of Hathaway Lane in Kalispell reported a vehicle was loitering around nearby mailboxes and it wasn’t one of her neighbors’. She described it as a silver four-door car with a spoiler. She made the report because she had heard about other mailbox criminal mischief in the area.

A resident of Bosco Drive in Kalispell reported that a package was supposed to be delivered to his home Monday and believes it may have been stolen from his mailbox.

A Bigfork woman reported that she believes someone stole her mail after someone found her driver’s license in the parking lot at a hotel on U.S. 93 South in Kalispell.

A sexual assault was reported in Evergreen.

An iPod and more than $100 in cash were reported stolen from a vehicle on Quarter Horse Lane in Kalispell. The caller stated there were footprints in the snow and that their neighbor has a surveillance camera.

A backpack containing a Kindle was reported stolen from a residence on Ridgewood Drive in Evergreen.

A computer and personal information were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in a church parking lot on Whitefish Stage Road in Kalispell.

A television was reported stolen from an apartment on Montana 35 in Evergreen.

Cash and change were reported stolen from a vehicle on Baker Avenue in Whitefish.

A man was cited and released for shoplifting after being apprehended at a store on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.

A resident of Thompson Lane in Evergreen reported someone had driven through his yard for the second time.

The Kalispell Police Department received a report of a woman in her early 20s with an older woman who walked into the stalls of a car wash on U.S. 93 South and took candy and a pair of sunglasses from a vehicle and left in a blue Ford Mustang with a white stripe. The vehicle has been involved in several reported thefts in the area.

A woman reported that while her 8-year-old daughter was home alone on Meadow Court, a man driving a red car came to the door and rang the doorbell, then asked the girl to come outside.

It was reported that two men in dark clothing were checking car doors on Fourth Avenue East.

It was reported that three men and one woman in a truck on East Idaho Street inquired whether a person wanted to buy any drugs.

An older man wearing a yellow coat and jeans tucked into his boots was reported pacing up and down Appleway Drive near North Meridian Road, taking pictures of the reporting party’s vehicle while it was parked at a nearby gas station.

An elderly man panhandling on First Avenue East North was warned and advised to take care of an active warrant.

Windows were smashed on vehicles on Sixth, Third and First avenues west and items, including binoculars and purses, stolen. In one instance, the owner followed footprints from the vehicle to house on Airport Road.

Vehicles on Eighth Avenue West and Seventh Avenue East North were also robbed, and saws were reported stolen from a vehicle on First Avenue East North.

It was reported that someone went through the glove box of an unlocked vehicle on Fourth Avenue West, but that nothing seemed to be missing.

A baby Jesus figure was reported stolen from a display in the front yard of a residence on Buttercup Loop.

It was reported that two benches were damaged on Second Avenue West.

A house was egged on First Street East.

The Whitefish Police Department received a report of assault on U.S. 93 South.

Thefts were reported on Texas Avenue and at a second unknown location.

The Columbia Falls Police Department received a report of medication stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Darlene Road.

Officers with the Polson Police Department discovered a person who had violated a protection order after responding to a report of harassment on Second Street East.
