LIBBY - It was a great night Thursday for the sixth-ranked Libby Greenchain as it reeled off two Northwestern A wrestling victories in its last action before Christmas. The Greenchain defeated Whitefish 60-21 and Polson 57-30.
Libby had seven pins and picked up four forfeits in the win over Whitefish.
Against Polson, Libby got some big wins from Zach Crace (119), Josh Bowers (152), Austin Bailey (189) and Gunner Moe (215).
"I'm proud of our kids. We came out ready to wrestle in both duals," said Libby coach Kelly Morford.
He complimented the efforts of Crace and Mitch Haugen (130).
"They both wrestled really good kids.
"We kind of circled this (Polson dual) on the calendar. We knew Polson was a good team. It was nice to be able to match up with them in the lower weights.
"Pretty much top to bottom, we came out with good energy," he said.
