Augustin leads Bobcats over Bucks

D.J. Augustin scored 19 points, rookie Kemba Walker added 13, including two free throws with 9.9 seconds remaining, and the Charlotte Bobcats erased a 14-point deficit to beat the Milwaukee Bucks 96-95 on Monday night in their season opener in Charlotte, N.C.

The Bobcats got a huge lift off the bench from Walker and center Byron Mullens, who was acquired in a trade last week with the Thunder. Walker scored nine points in the second half, creating shots off the dribble, and chipped in with seven rebounds. Mullens was 5 of 7 from the field for 10 points.

Nuggets 115, Mavericks 93: Ty Lawson scored 20 of his 27 points in the first half and visiting Denver beat Dallas.

Denver, playing its opener, scored on 19 of 25 second-quarter possessions. Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas with 20 points.

Hornets 85, Suns 84: Eric Gordon made a 20-footer from the top of the key with 4.2 seconds and visiting New Orleans edged Phoenix.

Spurs 95, Grizzlies 82: Manu Ginobili scored 24 points and host San Antonio beat Memphis.

Nets 90, Wizards 84: Kris Humphries finished with 21 points and 16 rebounds to help visiting New Jersey erase a 21-point deficit and come all the way back to beat Washington in the season opener for both teams.

Raptors 104, Cavaliers 96: Rookie Kyrie Irving scored six points and hardly played like the No. 1 overall pick visiting Toronto spoiled the Cleveland guard's NBA debut with a season-opening win over the Cavaliers.

Pacers 91, Pistons 79: At Indianapolis, Roy Hibbert had 16 points and 14 rebounds to help Indiana defeat Detroit in the season opener for both teams at the renamed Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Magic 104, Rockets 95: Hedo Turkoglu scored 23 points to lead five Magic players in double figures as host Orlando earned its first victory of the season by beating Houston.

Thunder 104, Timberwolves 100: At Minneapolis, Kevin Durant scored 33 points to lead Oklahoma City past Minnesota.

Russell Westbrook added 28 points, six assists and six rebounds, for the Thunder.

Kings 100, Lakers 91: Marcus Thornton scored 12 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter and host Sacramento beat Los Angeles.

Blazers 107, 76ers 103: LaMarcus Aldridge had 25 points and seven rebounds and host Portland opened its season by beating Philadelphia.

Warriors 99, Bulls 91: At Oakland, Calif., Monta Ellis scored 26 points and David Leed added 22 to lead Golden State over Chicago.
