Loggers next face triangular match vs. Polson, Whitefish
Libby Greenchain wrestlers claimed a victory over the Columbia Falls (CF) Wildcats on Thursday, 37-33.
“Numbers are down a little this season,” Greenchain Coach, Kelly Morford, said. “We have 18 solid wrestlers though.”
Libby senior Mark Noble, 160-pounds weight class, is nursing a knee injury — his return was questionable the evening of the match.
Weight class 112 pounds, Dylan Roby, Libby, was pinned by Harland Jordan, CF, at 37 seconds; weight class 119 pounds, Aaron Seefeldt, Libby, was pinned by Seth McCall, CF, at 4 minutes and 51 seconds; weight class 125, Zach Crace, Libby, won by decision over Cody Hader, CF, 10-5; weight class 130 pounds, Mitch Haugen, Libby, won by a landslide decision over Colton Gove, CF, 16-3; weight class 140 pounds, Garret Chapel, Libby, pinned Adam Richardson, CF, at 3 minutes and 34 seconds; weight class 145 pounds, Kyle Leir, Libby, pinned Brian Schaffer, CF, at 1 minute and 27 seconds; weight class 152 pounds, Josh Bowers, Libby, lost by decision to Kohl Thompson, CF, 3-7; weight class 160 pounds, Dylan Berget, Libby, pinned Jason Williams, CF, at 2 minutes and 51 seconds; weight class 189 pounds, Austin Bailey, Libby, was pinned by Marcus Ross, CF, at 4 minutes and 43 seconds; weight class 215 pounds, Gunnar Moe, Libby, won by decision over Jacob Babcock, CF, 3-2, and weight class 285 pounds, Zach Dolezal, Libby, won by decision over Wayde Motichka, 4-0.
The match between Crace and Hader gave the Greenchain a much-needed lead over the Wildcats, 34-33.
Libby will host Whitefish and Polson at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., Thursday Dec.22.
