WALLACE - Bryan Smith scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Coeur d'Alene Charter Panthers past the Wallace Miners 42-30 in the Silver Valley Christmas tournament Tuesday at Kirby Krulitz Court.

Earlier, Ryan McDonald scored 17 points and Kellogg beat Coeur d'Alene Charter 66-31.

"We didn't know what to expect," said Coeur d'Alene Charter coach Brian Childs. "After playing at 10 a.m. and again at 1 p.m., it was kind of like a summer league game, but they counted. We just made enough plays to create some separation."

Christian Pederson scored 12 points against Wallace for Coeur d'Alene Charter.

"I was pretty proud of our effort today," Childs said. "The first game was tough on us and we hung on as long as we could. But we showed some resliancy and bounced back in the second game."

Against Kellogg, Smith scored 13 points for Coeur d'Alene Charter, which returns to action next Tuesday against Lakeside at Holy Family Catholic School.
