WRESTLING

Three local athletes won state championships at the Idaho middle school state tournament Dec. 17 in Caldwell.

State champions included Larry Johnson (Canfield), 70 pounds; T.J. Wolf (Lakeland), 120 pounds and Austin Garitone (Lakeland), 125 pounds.

Also, Jason Burchell (Timberlake, 90 pounds), Colton Kazmiberczak (River City, 100), Jarred Walker (Lakeland, 135) and Lane Stevens (Timberlake) all placed third. Ryan Starr (Timberlake, 90 pounds) placed fifth.

SWIMMING

Registration will begin on Tuesday for the next session of indoor swim lessons sponsored by the Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department and held at the McGrane Center. Classes are held on Monday or Wednesday evenings for six weeks.

Classes start the week of Jan. 9.

Registration will take place at the Coeur d'Alene City Hall Recreation Department, located at 710 Mullan Avenue.

Cost is $37.

BASKETBALL

The Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department will register Jan. 3 to 11 for Kindergarten, first and second grade boys or girls basketball leagues.

The program is set to begin approximately for the first of February and run through mid March.

Cost is $26 for city residents and $31 for non-city residents.

Registration is at the Coeur d'Alene City Hall Recreation Department, located a 710 Mullan Avenue.
