ST. REGIS - Arlee picked up their first victory of the season
with a 55-33 win over St. Regis in their district opener last
Tuesday, Dec. 20 behind 17 points by Mahalia Hendren.
The Scarlets found themselves down 14-9 after the first quarter,
but outscored the Lady Tigers 17-5 in the second quarter to go into
halftime with the 26-19 lead. In the second half, Arlee would hold
St. Regis to just 14 points total while they piled on the points.
They outscored the Lady Tigers 29-14 in the second half for the
commanding victory.

Along with Hendren's 17, sophomore Whitney Malatare added 16 points and Desiree Nault notched 11.
On Thursday, Arlee faced Class B Loyola and played them close until the fourth quarter, falling 72-38. The Scarlets trailed Loyola 15-7 after the first quarter, and 37-21 at halftime. Arlee outscored Loyola 11-10 in the third quarter, but Loyola went on a 21-6 run in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Hendren again led the team with 15 points. Arlee will get back to action after Christmas break on Jan. 12 and will host Victor at 5:30 p.m.
