SPOKANE (AP) - Kevin Pangos hit 5 of 7 3-point shots and scored 19 points Wednesday night as Gonzaga opened West Coast Conference play with a 90-51 win over Portland.

Sam Dower added 15 points and Robert Sacre scored 13 as the Bulldogs (10-2) stretched their winning streak to five games.

Tim Douglas and Nemanja Mitrovic scored 10 points each for Portland (3-11). The Pilots have lost seven straight games overall, and 17 straight to Gonzaga.

The Bulldogs led 49-25 at halftime after shooting 60 percent from the field, including 6 of 10 on 3-point attempts.

Gonzaga posted season bests in points scored, points allowed and field-goal shooting percentage (54.7). Portland recorded season worsts in points allowed, points scored and field-goal shooting percentage (29.7).

The Pilots have struggled from beyond the arc this year. The Pilots hit just 4 of 20 3-pointers against Gonzaga to lower their season mark to 29.8 percent.

The Bulldogs substituted liberally throughout the game; no starter played more than 22 minutes.

Gonzaga led 15-4 on a Pangos 3-pointer after 5 1/2 minutes, and maintained double-digit leads the rest of the way.

The Pilots are 1-31 against Gonzaga since 1997. The lone victory came in 2003 at Gonzaga.

Sacre, the Bulldogs' All-WCC center, turned in a solid performance with tape protecting his dislocated right thumb. He was held scoreless while wearing a brace on his thumb against Air Force last Thursday in his only other game since being injured in practice.

Spokane plays at Xavier on Saturday.
