M. Elaine Jolly, age 86, passed away in Coeur d'Alene on Dec. 29, 2011.
Elaine was born in Rapid City, S.D., on July 25, 1925, to Bethel and Elsie Bowdish. She graduated from high school in Rapid City and as a young lady she worked as a sales clerk for a grocery store, a bakery, and also for J.C. Penney. She also worked at Lundstroms Jewelry making Black Hills Gold Jewelry.
On Aug. 10, 1954, Elaine married Roy Jolly in Rapid City, S.D.; they then relocated to Gooding, Idaho. They had one son, Michael. In 1971 they settled in Coeur d'Alene. She was a member of Assembly of God Church in Coeur d'Alene where she was the Coordinator for the girls Missionette program. For many years she also taught various Sunday school classes from Primary to Adult and organized Christmas plays for the church.
She is survived by her son Michael Jolly and his wife Eve of Coeur d'Alene, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.?Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Roy on April 11, 2011, and her sisters, Evelyn M. Bowdish Banning and Henrietta Bowdish Rapp.

A visitation will be held at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 North Fourth Street, Coeur d'Alene, on Wednesday Jan. 4, 2011, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held the same day at 2 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel, with a reception to follow at the chapel.
