MOSES LAKE 78, Eisenhower 28

YAKIMA - It may be just a big win against one of the weaker teams in the Big 9, but it's a victory nonetheless.

Yet, the Moses Lake Chiefs girls' basketball 78-28 rout of host Eisenhower on Friday night still fit a dual purpose.

One, they beat an opponent they should have and secondly, kept pace in a competitive chase for the Big 9 title.

Moses Lake (13-3, 7-2) remains tied with Richland for second place in the Big 9, with Richland having won the first game between the two.

On Saturday, the Chiefs, who play their final three regular season games this week, will host the Bombers, and if they come in having won their previous two contests that game would decide the likely number two seed at districts.

Chiawana (9-1), would have to lose at least one game to give the Chiefs an outside chance at the top seed.

On Friday, the Chiefs were the unwelcome guests as they stormed to a 20-1 lead after the first quarter and rolled to a 37-6 cushion by halftime.

Jordan Loera and Kayla Bernsen each led the Chiefs with 22 points apiece,  while Kyleigh Gamez and Tasha Gentry each scored six points each.
