PAC-10

Jared Cunningham had 19 points and the Oregon State Beavers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 68-56 upset victory over No. 20 Washington on Thursday night at Corvallis, Ore.

Scott Suggs had a career-high 18 points, including five 3-pointers for Washington (15-6, 7-3 Pac-10) which lost its second straight.

Oregon State (9-12, 4-6) took a 58-52 lead on Omari Johnson's layup off an offensive rebound. After Isaiah Thomas made 2 of 3 free throws for the Huskies, Calvin Haynes made one for the Beavers.

No. 21 Arizona 78, Stanford 69: At Stanford, Calif., Derrick Williams shrugged off pain in his right pinky to score 21 points and grab eight rebounds, and Arizona beat Stanford (11-10, 4-6) for its fourth straight victory.

The sophomore star had part of his shooting hand buried in tape and gauze to protect his pinky after it was bent backward against UCLA last week and still put together a complete performance. Lamont Jones added 15 points, and Jesse Perry scored 12 to help the Wildcats (19-4, 8-3) overtake Washington for the Pac-10 lead.

California 66, Arizona State 62: At Berkeley, Calif., Allen Crabbe shook off a terrible shooting night to score seven points down the stretch, including a 3-pointer with 13.5 seconds left, and California hung on to beat Arizona State (9-13, 1-9).

Crabbe missed eight of his first nine shots and committed what nearly was a costly turnover with just over a minute to play before making his clinching shot from beyond the arc. The freshman starter finished with 10 points for the Golden Bears (13-9, 6-4 Pac-10).

TOP 25

No. 1 Ohio State 62, Michigan 53: At Columbus, Ohio, Jared Sullinger hammered away inside for 19 points and 15 rebounds and Ohio State came back from a sluggish half to beat Michigan (13-9, 3-6), helping the Buckeyes open with 23 wins for the second time in school history.

William Buford added 13 points as Ohio State (23-0, 10-0 Big Ten) extended its conference lead to three games.

No. 9 Notre Dame 83, DePaul 58: At Rosemont, Ill., Ben Hansbrough scored 24 points and Notre Dame used runs at the end of the first half and beginning of the second to rout DePaul (6-15, 0-8 Big East), running the Irish's winning streak to four games.

Notre Dame (18-4, 7-3) was coming off a nine-day layoff following its upset win at Pittsburgh on Jan. 24. It didn't take long for the rust - if there was much at all - to go away.

Hawaii 73, Boise State 66: At Boise, Bill Amis scored 22 points to lead Hawaii (13-9, 4-6 Western Athletic Conference) past Boise State.

Daequon Montreal had 17 points to lead the Broncos (12-10, 5-5) and Thomas Bropleh added 14.

Fresno State 88, New Mexico State 83, OT: At Fresno, Calif., Kevin Olekaibe scored 24 points and Greg Smith added 17 as Fresno State (9-12, 4-6) defeated New Mexico State (12-12, 6-4 WAC).

Saint Mary's 79, Pepperdine 71: At Moraga, Calif., Mickey McConnell had 26 points and five assists, Rob Jones added 22 points and eight rebounds, and West Coast Conference-leading Saint Mary's (19-4, 7-1) remained unbeaten at home in McKeon Pavilion with a victory over Pepperdine (9-16, 3-5).

San Diego 66, Loyola Marymount 63: At San Diego, Chris Gabriel scored a career-high 21 points, including the go-ahead basket with 36.9 seconds left, to lift San Diego (5-18, 1-7 WCC) past the Lions (9-14, 1-7).
