CLARK FORK — Dimi Kailang and Brocklynn Thornton each posted a double-double in a losing effort, as the Wampus Cats fell 52-42 to Stillwater Christian in nonleague girls basketball action Thursday night at Clark Fork High School.

Kailang scored 12 and pulled down 12 boards, and Thornton added 10 points, 12 rebounds and five steals as the Wampus Cats (11-8) built a 21-16 halftime lead before things began to go south in the second half.

“Brocklynn and Celeste (Komanec) got in foul trouble in the second half and Tessa (Vogel) hurt her knee in the third quarter,” said Cats head coach Dexter Vogel. “When that happened we fell behind. Our defense held them pretty well.”

The Wampus Cats will now await the winner of Wednesday’s Mullan vs. Kootenai game on Friday in the district playoffs.

Clark Fork  6   15   9   12 — 42
