Oregon's defense muzzles Cougars

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Joevan Catron had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Oregon recorded its most convincing win in Pac-10 Conference play in five years with a 69-43 victory against Washington State on Thursday night.
Jay-R Strowbridge added 15 points off the bench, Garrett Sim scored 13 and E.J. Singler had 10 points for the Ducks (11-11, 4-6), who led from the opening basket.
Klay Thompson, who leads the Pac-10 with 22.3 points per game, was held to 12 points on 4-of-13 shooting, including 2 of 8 from the 3-point line for Washington State (15-7, 5-5).
Catron dazzled on offense, scoring on fadeaway jumpers, spinning layups and 3-pointers.
The Cougars play at Oregon State on Saturday.
