Wrestling: ROYAL finishes third in SCAC East

BENTON CITY - Falling just short in their run for a hoped for South Central Athletic Conference (SCAC) East sub district wrestling title, the Royal Knights finished third with 224.5 points, losing out to winners Kiona-Benton (243) and Connell (237) on Saturday.

The top four wrestlers in each weight class advanced to this weekend's regional at Connell.

Royal earned four individual titles behind the performances of Danny Barajas (119-pounds), Omar Gomez (140-pounds), Alex Myrick (152-pounds), and Damien DeLarosa (171-pounds).

Other Knights that stayed alive in the post season are, Brian Gallardo (103-pounds, second place), Laddie Goroski (135-pounds, second place), Hank Ellis (140-pounds, second), Emilio Bustos (145-pounds, second place), Freddy Ramirez (145-pounds, fourth place), Christian Guerrero (152-pounds, third place), and Tanner Whitaker (285-pounds, fourth place).
