Charlotte Mary Cada, 93
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 13 years, 11 months AGO
Charlotte Mary Cada passed away on Feb. 5, 2011, in Coeur d'Alene.
Born Feb. 26, 1917, to Joseph and Catherine Cada in Potlatch. She attended Potlatch High School and graduated from Kinman Business University in Spokane in 1958. She was the recipient of KBU's highest award, the IDY award and a member of the Spokane Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Iota Sorority. A lifelong devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church, she was Secretary and housekeeper for Rev. Albert Dulberg for several years and caretaker for the last years of his life. She was organist for St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake for many years and was a member of St. George's Catholic Church in Post Falls.
Charlotte will be missed by the many friends she made through the years. She was a very special person with a sense of humor and an iron will which served her well through her life being legally blind. As Dr. Berg would attest, Charlotte was not blind in her mind, only in her eyes. She wrote in her award-winning letter at KBU, "I will never forget the expression on Mrs. Becker's face the day I started typing. It amused me to see such a good teacher helpless as to what method she might use to get me started. I hope all the prayers she had me typing will help her and me on the day of Judgement."
She is preceded in death by sisters, Alice Cunningham and Violet Cada and brothers, Clarence, Joseph and Elmer Cada.
Charlotte is survived by nephews David (Kendria) Cada of Potlatch and Dennis (Carlene) of Harrison; and sister-in-law Audrey Cada of Potlatch.
A very special thank you to all the staff of Coeur d'Alene Homes for making Charlotte's last months pleasant ones. The care and love given to her is beyond words. Thank you too for all the wonderful care and thoughtfulness she received from Hospice of North Idaho and her doctors and nurses from On-Site for Seniors. We would also like to extend special thanks to N.O.S.D.A. of St. Pius Catholic Church.
Memorial gifts in Charlotte's memory may be given to Coeur d'Alene Homes or Hospice of North Idaho.
