Spartans top Wolfpack

The turnovers were troublesome all right - 29 all total.
But the real number that frustrated Glacier girls basketball coach Kris Salonen more than anything was 20.
That was the margin of victory for third-ranked Missoula Sentinel over the Wolfpack on Tuesday at Glacier High School - 52-32.
"Lost by one there," Salonen said at Sentinel of the first meeting between the two schools this season.
"It was a great game. That's what's so bad and frustrating (about this one)."
Sentinel's full-court pressure, again, gave Glacier fits all night long.
"We had 16 (turnovers) at the half and we were only down seven," Salonen said.
"We were 6-for-12 at the free throw line against a good team."
Salonen told her girls if they could do a better job against the press, "we would be all right. Then they go on a 9-0 run on us (in third period)."
And basically at that point it was game over.
Sentinel broke away from a 22-15 halftime lead by outscoring Glacier 30-17 in the final half.
Sentinel's Kate Patenaude, who had seven points in the first half, wound up leading all scorers with 16. DJ Reinhardt was next with 11.
Glacier was led offensively by Cassidy Hashley with seven points. Baylee Quay and Patty Hughes both had five.
Sentinel (13-2 overall and 6-1 league) also struggled holding onto the ball and shooting. That helped Glacier keep it close for the most part.
The Spartans had 21 turnovers.
Glacier (8-7, 2-5) battled underneath, outrebounding Sentinel 43-39. Quay and Hashley both had nine rebounds.
Glacier is back in action Thursday at Missoula Big Sky.
