Robert Harold (Bob) Nelmar passed away surrounded by his family, Feb. 9, 2011, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene. He was born April 9, 1940, in Great Falls, Mont., to Thomas and Margaret Kelly.

Bob and his younger brother Arthur were adopted by John and Winifred Nelmar in 1944. In 1957 at the age of 17, Bob joined the Army spending most of his tour in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1960. Bob was as equally happy in the mountains as he was scouring the desert looking for treasures. His hobbies included NASCAR, the Raiders and Fords.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Gina and Anthony Herrera, and Christina and Oscar Magdaleno of California. Bob is also survived by six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews including John and Tanya Nelmar of Coeur d'Alene; brother Aurthur and Bobbie Nelmar of Dalton Gardens, Ron Grady of Seattle, Wash., sisters Margaret and Al Perrella of Dalton Gardens and Dorothy Marshall of Great Falls, Mont., Sarah and Andy Paligia of Great Falls, Loretta Ledin of Grand Junction, Colo.; and his special cat, Daisy.

Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Kellky, Frank Kellky and sister Judy Thoman.

Rest in Peace Dad and Uncle Bob. We love you.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Donations in Bob's name can be made to Kootenai Humane Society or your charity of choice.
