ST. MARIES - Senior Zach Lehman scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as the St. Maries Lumberjacks, ranked fifth in 3A, defeated the top-ranked Priest River Spartans 63-51 in an Intermountain League game Friday night.
"We were really patient on the offensive end in the second half," St. Maries coach Craig Wicks said. "Ian (Heath), Warren (Joiner) and Zach all stepped up and got some good looks tonight. It was a good overall team effort."
Eric Holbrook scored 15 points for Priest River (13-5, 5-1 IML), which shot 5 of 27 from beyond the 3-point line.
"We're just continuing to battle," Wicks said. "Priest River is still the front-runner and we just caught them on an off night. Our kids were excited for this game."
Heath had 17 points and 10 rebounds for St. Maries (15-4, 5-2), which travels to Bonners Ferry on Feb. 19.

SPIRIT LAKE - Alex Mendez scored 11 points and Alex Awbrey added 10 to lead Bonners Ferry (3-11, 2-4 Intermountain League) past Timberlake.
Brian Cronnelly scored 19 points, Cooper Simpson 17 for Timberlake (2-16, 0-7), which led 25-19 at the half.
"They turned up their defensive pressure in the third quarter and went 8 for 8 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to seal the win," Timberlake coach Jim Simpson said.
Timberlake hosts Kellogg on Tuesday.

Senior Greg Roman scored 33 points and had 14 rebounds to lead the Panthers past the Wampus Cats in their regular season finale at Holy Family Catholic School.
"I was real happy for Greg tonight," Coeur d'Alene Charter coach Brian Childs said. "He's worked extremely hard this year and to have 33 points and 14 boards is a really good night. I was really happy for our seniors to have them go unbeaten at home this season."
Tyrell Peters scored 13 points for Coeur d'Alene Charter (15-3), which opens the 2A District 1-2 tournament against Grangeville at Lapwai High on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Kamiah will host Orofino in the other semifinal on Wednesday.

Clark Fork (12-8) will face the winner of today's play-in game between Camas County and Mackay in the opening round at Nampa High on Thursday at 7 p.m. PST.

RATHDRUM - The host Lakeland Hawks closed out the regular season with a 43-33 loss to the Moscow Bears in a at Hawk Court.
Tanner Wright (112 pounds), Dustin Hannawalt (119) and Chase Campbell (160) had pins for Lakeland against Moscow.
"It was senior night for us and our kids wrestled hard against Kellogg tonight," Lakeland coach Rob Edelblute said. "Against Moscow, we had some guys bumped up some weights to get our seniors some action and it didn't quite go the way we wanted to and fell a little short."
Earlier, Lakeland defeated Kellogg 48-21 as Austin Hoobler (103), David Nelson (152) and Ryan Ransier (160) had pins for the Hawks.
Lakeland hosts the 4A Region 1 tournament on Friday.
