The Hayden Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the third annual HAYDEN Awards, which recognizes individuals for community service.

"We are in the third year of this fabulous and well-received tradition," said Nancy Lowery, chamber president. "The Hayden Chamber of Commerce will recognize the hard work and outstanding achievements of those dedicated volunteers and business leaders who have been a positive influence in our community."

The HAYDEN Awards recognize the achievements of individuals representing six different sectors of the Hayden community. The name "HAYDEN" itself is an acronym of the six award categories: H - History or Human Rights; A - the Arts; Y - actions by or for Youth; D - Distinguished community service; E - Education; and N - New or Noteworthy business.

To be considered, nominees must live or work in the Greater Hayden area and have significantly contributed to the betterment of the Hayden community.

"There are remarkable people in Hayden that volunteer their time and effort to help make this a wonderful community," said Lowery. "We want to recognize these individuals and call attention to the positive example they set."

Award nominations should be submitted in writing to the Hayden Chamber of Commerce, Attn: Hayden Awards '10, P.O. Box 1210, Hayden, Idaho 83835. Nominations should include the name, address and telephone number of the nominee; the category of the award and a detailed description of the individual's contributions to the Hayden community. Hayden Award nominations must be postmarked by March 5.

This year's HAYDEN Awards recipients will be honored at the Hayden Chamber of Commerce's Annual Banquet and Dinner Dance at the Hayden Lake Country Club on March 26.
