A 22-4 advantage in the third quarter helped the Bluehawks complete their sweep over Distrit 7-B rival Plains on Thursday. Thompson Falls emerged with a 57-37 victory and finished the regular season in fourth place at 5-5 conf., 9-9 ovr.

A 16-8 advantage in the fourth quarter would prove too little too late for the Horsemen on Thompson Falls’ senior night.

Jaron Laws scored 11 points to lead the Bluehawks in the win. Garrett Reinschmidt tallied nine points, Challis Wilson six, Sky Hall five, Josh Hojem two and Dominique Holt and Dalton Groshong one each.

Carson Lilja scored nine points to lead the Horsemen who ended the regular season in last place without a single conference win (0-10, 4-14). Brandyn Smith scored eight, Tanner Ostrum and Andrew Baker six, Taylor Firestone four and Wade Bache and Robert Earhart two points apiece.

Two days later, Thompson Falls would repeat its success with a 37-29 win over St. Ignatius in their final regular season game.

Timely, fourth quarter three-pointers from Reinschmidt and Laws lifted the Bluehawks to an 11-6 advantage in the final frame and a conference win.

Challis Wilson scored 10 points to lead Thompson Falls. Laws added nine points, Reinschmidt and Pavlik six apiece, Hojem and Phillips two points.

Austin Durglo tallied 10 points to lead the second seeded Bulldogs (5-5, 10-8) in the loss.

The Bluehawks will face off against the fith-place Lions (5-5, 5-13) in their opening game of the district tournament this weekend.

Earlier in the week, an off target buzzer beater was the difference in the Horsemen’s 37-39 loss to Mission during Plains’ senior night on Tuesday.

Things were looking up for the Horsemen after Andrew Baker hit four treys in the first quarter to give Plains a 16-8 advantage heading into the second. Sig. Ignatius would tie things up, 30-all, by halftime,

Stuart Grant scored 16 to lead the Bulldogs in the conference win.

Baker had a game-high 16 points for the Horsemen. Lilja added six points, Jeff Revier five, Firestone and Bache four and Brandyn Smith two.
