The Superior Lady Cats finished out the regular season last week, 3-7 and 9-9. They fell to Loyola on Thursday when they played at home. The Lady Cats lost 34-62.
The Lady Cats had a rough first quarter to start the game out. Loyola’s full court press made it hard for the home team to score in the first quarter. Loyola jumped out to a strong lead, 16-4.
The girls tried to rally in the second to come back. They entered halftime behind, 19-37, down by 18 points.
Superior didn’t manage a comeback in the second half of the game. They were outscored 4-16 again in the third quarter.
Cary Chamberlain scored nine points to lead the team. Nicole Stroot pitched in six and Ashley Blaylock and Kaitlynn Koke each scored five. Malinda Steinebach added four. Myranda Kuhl and Kinzie Cooper each scored two apiece.
