Whitefish School District Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting in the board meeting room, 600 East Second Street, on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. to discuss the school superintendent search process.
Muldown Elementary School will hold its annual Mully Night Carnival on Thursday, March 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with dinner, games and activities. Proceeds from the sale of tickets for food and activities will support field trips and assemblies.
Steven Vail graduated from the Air Force Combat Control School at Pope Air Force Base in Fort Bragg, N.C. Vail graduated from Whitefish Independent High School in 2009. Combat Controllers are trained special operations forces and certified FAA air traffic controllers who deploy undetected in combat and hostile environments to establish assault zones or airfields.
Laura Shea, a 2003 graduate of Whitefish High School, graduated from Empire College, in Santa Rosa, Calif., on Jan. 17. She graduated with President’s Honors from the clinical medical assistant program and now resides in Santa Rosa with her child, Talon McDonald.
Heather Cale, of Whitefish, received a bachelor of science degree from Emory College, of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., on Dec. 18.
Whitefish students Kellie Kalbfleisch with a 4.0 GPA, Colt Idol, Kristin Kalbfleisch, William Roche and Daniel Simmons were named to the 2010 fall semester dean’s list at Carroll College, in Helena.

Rehberg to attend rally for Jesus statue
Montana Rep. Denny Rehberg will attend a public rally in Whitefish on Nov. 10 in support of the World War II statue of Jesus on Big Mountain. Rehberg will be at the VFW Post 276 on Baker Avenue at 1 p.m.
Sled Dog Days pints for a purpose
Flathead Sled Dog Days is gearing up for its fifth annual dog sled race Jan. 6-8. Race organizers have partnered with the Whitefish Winter Carnival to become part of their festivities next month.
