Carol Ann Airhart passed away peacefully at her home in Coeur d'Alene on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011. She was born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Carroll and Marjorie (Lloyd) Franklin on April 19, 1933.
Carol grew up and went to school in Los Angeles and then attended UCLA for two years. She worked as a secretary for Hughes Aircraft for a number of years but was most proud of her role as a mother, wife and homemaker.
Carol lived in Southern California until 1992 when she moved to Coeur d'Alene. She met her husband Marty in 1996 and they were married June 14, 1997.
Carol loved her aerobics, tennis, bowling, hiking, bicycling and gardening. She also loved playing cards and a number of board games. She belonged to the 3Cs in Coeur d'Alene, as well as the Eagles. Carol also did some volunteer work at Kootenai Medical Center. She was also an artist and belonged to the Coeur d'Alene Art Association.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, son Kevin Riley and brother Richard Franklin.
Survivors include her husband, Marty of Coeur d'Alene; daughter Erin of Las Vegas, Nev.; son Brian (Robin) of Lake Forest, Calif.; son Michael of Santa Cruz, Calif.; son Patrick (Kathy) of Coeur d'Alene and daughter Brenda (Steve) Airhart Elliott; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Jeannie Mc Closkey of Vista, Calif.; nephew Richard Franklin of Redondo Beach, Calif., and cousins Rocky and Ronald Lloyd of La Habra, Calif.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, is entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
