Chiefs hammer Silvertips

EVERETT, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs outshot the Everett Silvertips 53-23 on the way to a 7-2 win in front of 4,723 in Western Hockey League action at Comcast Arena on Wednesday night.

Levko Koper recorded a hat trick, with Anthony Bardaro collecting three assists. Jared Cowan had two assists and Brendon Kitchton added two goals for Spokane (35-16-4-2, 76 points).

Spokane trails U.S. Division-leading Portland by three points and leads third-place Tri-City by two.

Mac Engel had 21 saves for the Chiefs, who held Everett to only 13 shots on goal in the final two periods.

Spokane travels to Kelowna on Friday.
