DeWit receives national NAIA honor

Columbia Falls graduate and Montana Tech center Kelsey DeWit was named player of the week for all of NAIA National Division I Women's Basketball.

An all-state Wildkat who graduated last year, DeWit had numerous career highs last week, including a 32-point performance.

The Orediggers' 6-foor-2 freshman center had 21 points and 10 rebounds in a 70-59 win against Great Falls.

In the following game, a 76-68 victory over Montana State-Northern, DeWit scored 32 points on 10-of-12 shooting and added 12 rebounds. In both games, she combined for 14-of-17 from the free throw line.

DeWit also earned player of the week honors in the Frontier Conference.

Montana Tech is currently in third place at 6-5 in conference and 17-9 overall.
