Eureka boys fall in OT to Plains

LIBBY - Plains overcame a rough first quarter to defeat Eureka 63-59 in overtime in a first-round matchup at the District 7B boys basketball tournament on Thursday.

Taylor Finstone led three Horsemen in double figures with 19.

Bryton Guckenberg led the Lion effort with 21. Tanner Petersen and Chris Ibach chipped in 13 each.

LIBBY - Troy used a big second half to pull away from Mission in a first-round matchup.

Cory Orr led the way for Troy (10-9) with 14 points. Ryan Rayson added 10.

Stuart Grant tallied 10 points for Mission (10-9).

Troy moves on to play top-seed Bigfork (13-5) today at 1 p.m.

Mission drops to loser-out action Saturday at 9 a.m.

LIBBY - Kelsey Fitchett scored 11 points to help Thompson Falls edge Eureka in a first-round contest.

Thompson Falls led 26-20 heading into the final frame, and then held off a late charge by the Lions.

Alex Holland led Eureka with eight points.

Thompson Falls (6-13) moves on to face third-ranked and top-seed Bigfork (17-1) today at 3 p.m.

Eureka (2-17) drops into loser-out action at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday.
