Kichton nets winner in 3rd

KELOWNA, British Columbia - Brenden Kichton's power-play goal 50 seconds into the third period lifted the Spokane Chiefs past the Kelowna Rockets 3-2 in Western Hockey League action in front of 6,101 at the Prospera Palace on Friday night.

"It was a great road win," Chiefs coach Don Nachbaur said. "Anytime you can win on the road, especially here in Kelowna, is big for our team."

Kichton also assisted on Jared Cowen's goal at 17:29 of the first to give the Chiefs (36-16-4-2, 78 points) a 1-0 lead.

Spokane tied the game 2-2 midway through the second on a goal from Levko Koper.

Spokane plays the Tri-City Americans tonight at 7 in Kennewick, Wash.
