Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 14 years, 2 months AGO
Richard C. Jones passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 17, 2011. He was born Sept. 22, 1920, in Blackfoot, son of the late Leonard and Halcie Jones.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married his sweetheart, Alene G. Hanni in 1943. Mr. Jones retired from the mining industry. After retirement, he farmed, manufactured wood stoves and many other ventures that kept him busy. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. In the years past, he volunteered selflessly helping in the building of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was an avid reader, most especially The Bible. He loved playing the guitar, singing and playing the harmonica, especially at family gatherings, to everyone's enjoyment.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alene; three daughters, Linda (Dale), Vicki (Greg), and Cheryl (Tim); son Lonnie (Dee); eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Zelma Walden and brothers, Norman and Val; and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
Our family would like to express a special thank you to Fr. Coleman Nolan for his seeing to Richard's Spiritual well-being. Also thank you to Dr.'s Denny, Foster and Sarcas for their devoted care, Panhandle Senior Companions, especially Dennis Robinson.
