Ruth Darnell, 87, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, in Gig Harbor, Wash., with her daughters by her side.

Ruth was born in Kalispell and moved to Bremerton, Wash., in 1963.

She was employed by Doug Fox Travel until her retirement in 1988.

Ruth was active in First Baptist Church, Senior Choral Group, and she greatly enjoyed her family.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; daughter, Laura Lynn; and a brother, Warren Sparling.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Klokker, and Diane Felthouse and husband Donald, all of Gig Harbor; grandchildren, Darcy Schinnell and husband Damon of Spanaway, Wash., and Darren Felthouse and wife Amie of Renton, Wash.; and great-grandchildren, Dustin Orr and Daley Schinnell of Spanaway. She also is survived by nephew, Bob Sparling, and wife, Sharon, of Tacoma, Wash.

Graveside services for Ruth will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell.
