The Bonners Ferry boys varsity basketball team didn’t let the snow stop them Tuesday from making Districts in Lakeland beating Timberlake, 71-49.

Coach Clint Arthur tells the same story as the score, the team shot extremely well.

Alek Lopez hit two three pointers on the first quarter and played a stellar game defensively, said Arthur.

The team moved the ball well in the half court offense and took advantage of size match ups in the post.

“Alex Awbrey and Zane Peycke  both played strong down low, finishing some tough shots,” Arthur said.

Awbrey, although under the weather,  finished the game with seven  of eight from the field and two of two from the free throw line.

“Everyone on the team contributed to the victory,” said Arthur. “They played as a team and kept Timberlake out of rhythm the entire game.”

The Badgers advanced to the District semi-finals Wednesday against Priest River.
