Deloris Josephine Ewert, 95, resident of Coeur d'Alene, passed away Feb. 23, 2011. She was born March 21, 1915, in Sparks, Okla., to Herbert and Ollie (Ware) Lower.
Deloris married Jack Ewert Sr. in Wentachee, Wash., on Nov. 29, 1932. She moved to Coeur d'Alene from Huntsville, Ala., in August 1995. Deloris attended Coeur d'Alene Assembly of God where she helped at the church office one day a week. She loved her flower gardening, was an avid reader and was a wonderful mother.
Deloris is preceded in death by her father in 1963; brother Donald in 1966; mother in 1975; her husband Jack Sr. of 49 years in July 1982.
She is survived by her sister, Mae Brown of Orland, Calif.; brother Hubert Lower Jr. and his wife Margaret of Hamilton City, Calif.; sister-in-law Myrtle Ewert of Redding, Calif.; sons, Lawrence H. Ewert Sr. and wife Shirley of Coeur d'Alene, Raymond W. Ewert and wife Betty of Woodland, Wash., and Jack W. Ewert Jr. and wife Patricia of Hazel Green, Ala.; 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a whole passel of nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held from 9-11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, and a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., both at English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene. Graveside services will be held at Valhalla Cemetery in Alabama at a later date.
