Idaho high school all-star rosters set

COEUR d'ALENE - Participants for the boys and girls 2011 Idaho state high school all-star basketball games were announced Wednesday by the North Idaho College athletic department.

The eighth annual statewide all-star games are scheduled for March 12 at North Idaho College.

The event is for high school seniors, with the North team consisting of players from District 1 and 2, and the South team consisting of players from the rest of the state.

The girls game is scheduled for 1 p.m., the boys game at 3:30 p.m. Between games, there will be 3-point shooting contest with the girls competing against the boys, as well as a slam-dunk contest.

Players were chosen by a selection committee of sports writers and broadcasters from throughout the state.

The South won both games last year. The South girls won 115-91 and leads the series 5-2. The South boys won 138-121 and lead the series 4-3.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students and senior citizens and will be available at the door, sponsor locations and local area high schools.

The games are sponsored by Time Warner Cable, Century 21-Beutler and Associates, The Coeur d'Alene Resort, Michael D's Eatery, Sports Cellar and the NIC Booster Club.
