POST FALLS - Dr. Seuss's Birthday Party is set for 6:30 to 7:30 tonight at the Post Falls Library to celebrate author Theodore Geisel.

Children will be treated to stories with the "Cat in the Hat," make their own hat like the cat's, and even have their faces painted with catlike features.

The Cat in the Hat was first published in 1957. When Seuss wrote "The Cat in the Hat" using 236 unique words, the tales of that capricious cat set a new standard for excellence in children's early readers.

The program is free and open to all ages.
