LaVina F. Jacobson, 94, resident of Coeur d'Alene, died Feb. 24, 2011, at Coeur d'Alene Homes. She was born Nov. 13, 1916, in Lignite, N.D., to Knute and Gerte Hermanson.

LaVina married Sigurd "Sig" Jacobson in 1936. They moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1950 from Marysville, Wash. She and Sig owned and operated several businesses in the Coeur d'Alene area including "Sig's Tavern." LaVina enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was a member of the World Wide Fellowship of CHRISTIANS and also the Coeur d'Alene Eagles Aux.

LaVina is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, DeLyal and Joa of Seattle, and LeRoy and Betty of Dalton Gardens; grandchildren, Scott, Brett and wife Emma, Gordon and wife Traci, Tammi, David and Jodee; great-grandchildren, Colt, Alixandrea, Macey, Emalee, Kaden, Isabella and Owen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sig in 2001 and her son, Gary in 1984.

Visitation hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 3, 2011, with her funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., all at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene.
