A combination of Syringa Family Partnership and Inspired Child Preschool & Learning Center will be initial occupants of a building under construction at 8680 Wayne Blvd. (just east of Government Way and Prairie Shopping Center), Hayden.

A privately owned, state-licensed and certified developmental disabilities agency, Syringa Family Partnership provides intensive behavior intervention and developmental therapy to children ages 3-17 with autism spectrum disorders and other related developmental disabilities, according to Lew Walde, who owns Syringa with his wife Dianna. Colleen Sisk is the agency director. Syringa is now located at 3650 Government Way.

"We have over 40 highly trained and dedicated staff who provide one-on-one therapy-based services from the Silver Valley to Bonners Ferry," he said. "We will work in conjunction with the preschool to allow these children in the Coeur d'Alene area to have access to typically-developing peers."

Inspired Child Preschool & Learning Center will open in September with two classrooms, an inside playroom and an outdoor playground. Director is Dianna Walde, who has 16 years teaching experience and a master's degree in elementary education. Classes will be offered mornings and afternoons for children ages 3 to 5. Phone 691-8479. Check www.inspiredchildschool.com.

Syringa Family Partnership and Inspired Child Preschool & Learning Center will be in the rear of the two-level building in about 6,000 square feet. About 1,550 square feet in the front of the building is available for lease to a compatible tenant such as an office space, professional service group or a small business. Phone Dianna Walde at 691-8479.

Here's this week'stidbits:

• Construction will begin soon on the public access routes into the 17-acre Education Corridor between North Idaho College and Harbor Center, which houses University of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State College offices and classrooms. The landscaped, median-divided roads will include three roundabouts and bike lanes and sidewalks. They should be complete by the start of fall semester. More later.

• Watch also for details on Riverstone West Phase II. The 21-acre development will include apartment buildings, a Citylink transit hub (with a building on four acres in the northwest corner), a medical building, an office building, an FBI field office and the Ugly Fish restaurant (almost done).

• Owner Raci Erdem of The White House Grill in Post Falls has added a new restaurant, the West Wing of the White House at 4334 S. Regal St., Spokane. It's interesting that Erdem uses U.S. government building names for his restaurants since a sign on the Post Falls place "blames" President Obama for the place having to add Sunday hours.

• Interstate 90 will get the ruts fixed in the Spokane area this summer. It's interesting that studded snow tires are blamed for the ruts. However, you don't see ruts in North Idaho and Montana highways, places that really have studs. (Heh, heh). So possibly poor materials and/or workmanship are to blame for the ruts in the first place. We also noticed similar ruts last week west of Ritzville, and there's few studs there. Maybe studs are blamed in case some driver has an accident because of the ruts and blames the construction.

• JB's Restaurant on Appleway has closed.
