SPOKANE - Their last basketball trip in the 2010 calendar year may be the one the Moses Lake Chiefs would be inclined to soon forget.

After a tough first quarter that saw both the Chiefs and Ferris struggle to get going offensively, the host Saxons found their scoring touch over the next eight minutes, built a 33-17 halftime lead and never looked back in an 82-47 win.

Ferris' offense was so prolific, they scored more points through three quarters than the Chiefs (3-6) did the entire game, thanks in part to 69 percent shooting from inside the arc.

Moses Lake (3-7) shot 17-for-43 from the field at just under a 40 percent clip, but they only hit 25 percent of their three-point attempts.

Matt Franz and Kyler Moats each scored 12 points apiece to lead the Chiefs, who lost their sixth-straight game.

Kody Samuels and Max McDonald each put up six points for the Chiefs.

REARDAN - Trying to stay unbeaten coming out of the holiday break, the Almira/Coulee-Hartline Warriors took a methodical approach to their semifinal game at the Reardan Tournament on Wednesday night.

The Warriors (8-0) slowly built their lead throughout the first half to eventually pull away from Chewelah 61-46.

ACH led 30-18 at halftime, saw the margin cut to nine after three quarters and then put their opponents away with a strong showing down the stretch.

Derek Isaak continued his strong scoring performances of late, hitting for 30 points, while Thunder Wellhausen added 14 points and Brandon Boutain ended up with 10 points.

ACH played Reardan in last night's tournament final.

WILSON CREEK 42

WATERVILLE - Wilson Creek's Devils had a chance at the title of the Waterville Tournament on Wednesday night, tied with Manson at 42-42 with two minutes to go.

That was when Manson went on a game ending 9-0 run and went on to take the crown in a 51-42 decision.

Wilson Creek (5-2) missed 11-of-20 free throw attempts during the fourth quarter as their four-game winning streak came to an end.

Jacob Treat led Wilson Creek with 15 points and Derek Fredere and Austin Reyes each scored nine points for the Devils.
