New Denny's to open
David Cole | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 14 years, 11 months AGO
A Denny's will be taking the spot currently occupied by Thad's Restaurant inside the Flying J Travel Plaza in Post Falls, just off the Pleasant View Road exit of Interstate 90.
Joe Tomlinson, manager of Thad's, said Denny's would be taking over the space at the end of this month.
He said the approximately 20 employees at Thad's will be interviewed by Denny's for positions after the change. He said the Denny's might have around 60 employees, and be open 24-hours a day, compared with the 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. hours operated by Thad's.
He said he had heard Denny's would be remodeling the space it will be leasing from Pilot Flying J, which owns the travel plaza.
The Thad's is located at 400 N. Idahline Road, and has seating for about 100 people, Tomlinson said. The Flying J is just across Pleasant View Road from a planned Love's travel stop and country store. It sits just north of I-90.
Representatives from Denny's Corp. couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
In July, the Associated Press reported that Denny's Corp. would begin converting the restaurant portions of 140 Flying J travel centers to the Denny's brand beginning in July.
There are Denny's restaurants at 2300 N. Fourth St., in Coeur d'Alene; and 1670 Schneidmiller Ave., in Post Falls.
