Prep Basketball: Polson drops Ronan, C-Falls stays perfect

POLSON - Louis Mohr scored a season-high 28 points as Polson defeated Ronan 74-61 on Friday in Northwestern A boys basketball play.

Mohr finished with a double-double as he hauled down 13 rebounds. He also totaled five assists.

Sheldon Fisher tallied 12 points and Kyle Bagnell added 11 for Polson.

Polson (4-2 overall, 2-0 league) outscored Ronan 45-30 in the middle two quarters. The Pirates ruled the boards, 36-23.

Polson plays at Glacier today, 2 p.m.

BIGFORK - Colter Trent led a balanced attack with 13 points as Bigfork stayed perfect in District 7B action.

Carter Sorensen and Ian Lorang also reached double-figure scoring for the Vikings (6-2, 4-0) with 10 points each.

Bigfork led 30-12 at the half.

Ian Lorang had five of Bigfork's 14 assists in the contest. Jackson Boese and Dillon Fraley had six rebounds each.

Bigfork hosts Troy tonight at 6.

LIBBY - Kaleb Johnson scored 15 of his game-high 19 points in the opening quarter as Columbia Falls defeated Libby in Northwestern A play.

Columbia Falls (6-0, 1-0) led 23-6 and 36-13 after the first two quarter stops.

Nick Emerson added 15 points for the winners.

Libby was led by Garrett Craig's 11 points.

Libby plays at Ronan today.

Danika Johnson paced Flathead offensively with 12 points. Tess Brenneman had 10.

Alison Sullivan scored 16 to lead CMR.

Frenchtown led 21-7 at the half and outscored Whitefish (0-4 overall) 26-9 in the final half.

Olivia Curtiss scored eight points to lead Whitefish.

COLUMBIA FALLS - Columbia Falls used a 17-0 run to begin the game en route to a 20-point victory over Libby in Northwestern A action.

Columbia Falls (2-4, 1-0) led 22-13 at the half and outscored Libby 20-9 in the third and fourth quarters.

Kayla DeWit tossed in a game-high 19 points, 12 coming in the second half, for the victors.

Jenny Gildin led Libby with 12.

"The girls came out and played hard for a good 2 1/2 quarters or so," said Columbia Falls coach Dan Fairbank.

"I was happy with the kids intensity for most of the game."

Libby plays at Ronan today at 6 p.m.

Kenney also pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds.

Polson (3-3, 2-0) led 21-10 after the opening quarter and 36-22 at the half.

Breanne Kelley and Jonna Grant both scored 12 points for Polson.
