OTHELLO - A high scoring and closely contested first half became anything but after halftime.
The visiting Ephrata Lady Tigers used a 26-3 third quarter explosion to pull away in a 77-50 Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) rout of the Othello Lady Huskies, who remain winless on the season.
Ephrata (6-5. 4-5) was sparked by the 37-point performance by Kelsey Yennie, while Othello's Christine Kirkwood match that total.
The only difference was the Lady Tiger had much more support on the offensive end.
Five other Ephrata players scored at least six points, led by Maddie Lotz's eight points.
Kirkwood also added 13 rebounds in the loss.
The previous evening, the Lady Huskies (0-10, 0-8) fell 40-30 at home against Ellensburg.
Othello trailed 24-12 at halftime and could only make a small dent on the deficit during the game's final 16 minutes.
Christine Kirkwood led Othello with 10 points.
