SOAP LAKE - Warden's Lady Cougars earned their first Central Washington 2B South win of the season on Friday, by virtue of a 50-31 win over Soap Lake.

The host Lady Eagles remain winless on the season at 0-9 overall and 0-3 in league play.

Warden (4-5, 1-1) came out strong to take a 28-11 lead by halftime and held on from there.

"We jumped on them early with some tough man-to-man," Warden head coach Todd Kisler said. "We  worked on a 2-3 zone trapping defense and we kept it up. We played 12 players and all but there scored. It was a good night to get our first league win."

Iris Rodriguez paced Warden with 21 points and seven rebounds, Hannah Bisnett contributed eight points and nine rebounds and Lindsay Cole led the Lady Cougars with six assists.

For Soap Lake, Cythia Piedra led the Lady Eagles with 12 points while Diana Shytba added 10 points.

The next evening Soap Lake dropped a 62-31 decision at Entiat.

Entiat led 35-8 at halftime.

Piedra had 10 points to lead Soap Lake in scoring.
