EPHRATA - It was the kind of game the basketball doctor would have ordered for the Ephrata Lady Tigers.

Coming in with high expectations this season, Ephrata has found itself playing on a rollercoaster of momentum - one game good, one game so-so, one game not-so.

Last night, heading into their Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) contest against a competitive Grandview squad, the Lady Tigers found the peak of their ride so far.

Behind a strong defensive effort in the third quarter the Lady Tigers would pull away from the Greyhounds in a 58-44 victory.

Ephrata (7-5, 5-5) led 22-20 at the end of the first half, but a 19-9 third quarter was the difference in the Lady Tigers' victory.

"It was an outstanding effort defensively," Ephrata head coach Aaron Ross said. "We were also outrebound them to. It was just a terrific team effort."

Kelsey Yenney led Ephrata with 19 points, while Kendra DeHoog added 11 points and Heidi Buchert chipped in with nine points against Grandview (5-7, 4-6).
