Robert L. Coyne, 74

Robert L. Coyne, 74, passed away Jan. 10, 2011, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 16, 1936, in Joliet, Ill., and raised there, and lived in Chicago and Evanston, Ill. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and Loyola Law School.

Robert served in the U.S. Marines and was honorably discharged.

He was an attorney and a photographer.

Robert loved Montana and all that it brought. He was an avid photographer and cared deeply about the open lands in Montana. In addition to photography, Robert loved golf, nature, food and good friends to share it with. He was blessed to have two wonderful children to share his life with.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Beulah Coyne; and his brother, Richard Coyne.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy Coyne, of Whitefish; son, Michael Coyne, and wife, Ali, of Chicago; and daughter, Stefanie Coyne, of Chicago.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 15,at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Whitefish. A celebration of life will immediately follow at Grouse Mountain Lodge.

Memorial donations will presented by the Coyne family for a specific cause to The Nature Conservancy of Montana, c/o Robert Coyne, P.O. Box 4847, Whitefish, MT 59937.
