DES MOINES, Wash. - Brock Banta (133 pounds), Braden Mowry (141), Jake Mason (165), Jesse Nielsen (174), Justin Korthius (184), Jamelle Jones (197) and Matthew Foxworthy (285) won for North Idaho College as the third-ranked Cardinals beat fellow Region 18 wrestling foe Highline Community College 26-11 on Thursday.

It was the first match for NIC (7-0) since Dec. 11.

"I was pleased with it being the first match after Christmas break, but now it's time to crank things up again," NIC coach Pat Whitcomb said. "We take on Clackamas, the No. 1 team in the nation, tomorrow, so we'll need to turn those close matches we lost tonight in our favor."

NIC faces Clackamas Community College tonight in Oregon City, Ore.
